What does a job in dental public health involve?

Dental Public Health professionals focus on improving people’s oral health at a population level (unlike a dentist who works on the oral health of individual patients).

Tasks include focusing on disease prevention, health improvement, surveillance, optimising dental care delivery systems, and policy development. Work often focuses on the social determinants of oral health inequalities, the burden of oral diseases on individuals and society, and health services (e.g. the dental workforce).
