The National Safeguarding Team (NST) working within Public Health Wales is a national team of independent experts with a vision and overall aim to improve safeguarding across the NHS in Wales.
Public Health Wales (PHW) in Our Strategic Plan 2022-2025 sets out the organisational response to the pandemic induced challenges of worsening health inequalities and disproportionate negative impacts on our most deprived communities.
Main duties of the job
The Assistant Director of Safeguarding is a pivotal and exciting new national role where you will support the National Safeguarding Team (NST) in strengthening system leadership to drive continuous improvement in safeguarding across NHS Wales and other partnership agencies.
Working to support the Director of the NST, you will be a key leader within the safeguarding system to assist transformation in NHS Wales to align with the Quality and Safety Framework 2021.
Within Public Health Wales, the post-holder will support safeguarding leadership, providing strategic and professional management working with Directorates and Divisions on safeguarding strategy implementation and joint oversight of the Trust’s quality and clinical audit function.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and / or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
