Consultant in Public Health

Job description

Panoramic Associates are working with a South East based local authority to recruit a **Locum Consultant in Public Health** to start **ASAP** for** 6 months. **This role can be fulfilled **remotely **and will be 3-5 days per week, on a competitive daily rate basis.

This role will aim to provide management and coordination of COVID-19 response for the local authority.

**Role responsibilities:**
- Contribute strategically to the development and maintenance of effective systems for the surveillance of COVID-19.
- Proactively use COVID-19 surveillance outputs to inform and influence the local actions, policies, and strategies.
- Influence, and where appropriate, lead the development and implementation of a system wide response to COVID-19.
- Support vaccination uptake in target communities
- You will monitor the day-to-day operational delivery, management, and oversight of the COVID-19 response through prevention and rapid implementation of Local Outbreak Plans.
- You will play a key role in developing, shaping, and assuring the COVID-19 health protection function, which includes managing individuals and teams, working closely with partners, and ensuring delivery of high-quality surveillance, response, and support systems.
**Essential criteria:**
- Must be GMC Registered or in process for Public Health Specialist/Consultant registration (Or be eligible for registration within six months of interview) or be included on the UK Public Health Register for public health specialists (Or be eligible for registration within six months of interview)
- A strong background as a public health consultant working on communicable disease control in a wide variety of settings including out of hours on call.
- A strong understanding of all key agencies involved with Health Protection

This is a fantastic opportunity, you will work directly with the Director of Public Health as a Senior person within the Public Health team with responsibility for health protection and COVID-19.
