Health Improvement Practitioner Alcohol and Brief Interventions

Job description

Scotland’s Alcohol Framework 2018: Preventing Harm retains three central priority areas i.e. reducing consumption; positive attitudes, positive choices and supporting families and communities. The framework has also detailed a number of priority areas for action including the delivery of ABIs which are evidence base, structured and non-confrontational conversations about alcohol consumption. Evidence has shown that ABIs can have a positive impact on levels of alcohol consumption and can reduce health inequalities. Renfrewshire HSCP is looking for a full-time practitioner to join the Health Improvement Team for a fixed period of two years. The post holder will have specific responsibility for delivering Health Improvement work areas specifically related to Alcohol and Brief Interventions across a number of settings. The post holder will also be responsible for establishing and sustaining links with key partners and stakeholders to improve delivery and to agree a process to sustain performance in the long term. Educated to Degree level in a Health and Social Care topic or equivalent and have experience of working in a relevant topic or skills based area, e.g. health improvement, training and delivery of alcohol brief interventions is essential. Experience of partnership working and working with vulnerable individuals and groups will also be advantageous. ...
