Working on behalf of a Local Authority, Aatom Recruitment has an opportunity for a Locum Consultant in Public Health on a 3 month's contract with a possibility of an extension.
This opportunity is available for applicants that wish to work either part or full time (0.6 to 1 WTE).
The role will involve directing the work of a team of at least two public health strategists or senior strategists, or equivalent other public health staff, and being a member of the public health Senior Management Team.
Lead areas are expected to include some combination of:
Tobacco and smoking cessation
NHS Health Checks
Child and Maternal Health
Community Safety and Violence Reduction
They will include significant commissioning responsibilities.
Along with all consultants in the team, the post holder will also be expected to cover some responsibilities around COVID response in the short-medium term.
The post holder will work in co-operation with other colleagues within Public Health, council directorates, the Clinical Commissioning Group and broader Integrated Care System, the wider NHS and the voluntary sector, and will need to establish and maintain a wide range of working relationships. The post holder will need to develop a good understanding of the context of services in the borough which impact on health and health inequalities
