The parks physical activity team deliver a programme of healthy activities for the local community across four sites in Dudley Borough.
A team of nine staff are responsible for delivering activity sessions, engaging with the local communities, site maintenance and facilitating use of the facilities by other local partners.
Working from the under 5’s to over 60 age groups, the team contribute to a broad range of local health and well being priorities, through ensuring that our parks and open spaces are well used
To work as part of a team of parks physical activity activators and encourage and promote community involvement within the parks, through the development and maintenance of effective partnerships with the general public, Friends of Parks Groups and other partner organisations. Assess the health and wellbeing needs and assets of communities local to each site, to inform programme development.
To ensure that the borough’s Healthy Parks provide programmes of activities that promote and support healthy behaviours to members of the local community. This could be through the delivery of the activator team, or facilitation of partner organisations to deliver activities on the sites.
To be the initial point of contact for members of the public and partner organisations using the 4 sites. To be responsible for programme delivery and site maintenance.
