We are recruiting a permanent Public Health Lead, to support both councils to improve the health and wellbeing of the local populations of Richmond and Wandsworth. We are looking for someone with energy and enthusiasm to help our team achieve the best health outcomes for the residents of Richmond and Wandsworth. The post will offer the opportunity to be involved in different aspects of Public Health, and flexibility is important.
The post holder will support the delivery and implementation of the Council’s Prevention Framework. The postholder will also lead the delivery of the Council’s work plan relating to the healthy eating and nutrition strategy which forms part of the healthy weight programme.
The Council’s Prevention Framework also includes physical activity, healthy communities, healthy workplace, winter warmth, prevention in long term conditions, and social prescribing.
Additional responsibilities will include identifying the health needs of the population, advising on, and supporting strategic plans for commissioning services to meet those needs, providing commissioning support, and highlighting inequalities and improving outcomes for all residents. The post holder will provide Public Health advice and leadership and lead multi-agency and multi-disciplinary projects across both councils.
In addition, we are looking for someone with experience in programmes and project management, good budget management and project management skills and an eye for detail.
