Senior Policy Adviser - Dietary Health

Job description

In Northern Ireland the FSA is responsible for devolved matters relating to food safety, food standards, nutrition and dietary health. The Dietary Health Team has a remit for the development, implementation and evaluation of dietary health policy along with other government departments, as well as collating and applying nutrition science, research and surveillance. The FSA in Northern Ireland is a key delivery partner for food industry related outcomes in the NI obesity prevention strategy. The FSA's role is to safeguard public health and protect the interest of consumers in relation to food. The FSA's mission 'food you can trust' includes a food system that is healthier and more sustainable. These Senior Policy Advisers will have responsibility for shaping new dietary health policy decisions for Northern Ireland and implementing those already in place. Working closely with the wider Standards and Dietary Health team within the FSA and other government departments in England, Scotland and Wales, the Senior Policy Advisers will lead on the development, delivery and evaluation of dietary health legislation, policies and interventions in Northern Ireland. These posts require close working with stakeholders as well as colleagues across governments. You will deliver the functions of the Dietary Health team, contributing to the delivery of the FSA strategic plan, corporate objectives and business plan.
