This is an exciting opportunity to support the delivery of Public Health Wales’ Long Term Strategy by leading strategic policy projects and providing specialist public health policy support based on analysis, evidence and expertise.
Addressing health inequalities and their causes requires concerted and coordinated action in the wake of the COVID-19 pandemic and as Wales takes on future challenges such as climate change. Public Health Wales has a key role to play in this through policy recommendations, advocacy and implementation.
As Senior Policy Officer, you will take an active role in identifying opportunities to improve public health in Wales and capitalise on them by undertaking credible, evidence-based policy work. You will build relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders to shape policy thinking and enable policy change, including with Welsh Government, public bodies, local public health teams and third sector organisations.
In this role you will be part of Public Health Wales’ Polisi team and work closely with the wider WHO Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health and Well-being that it sits within.
We welcome applicants to the role who wish to work full-time or part-time and are supportive of flexible working patterns.
