Senior Public Health Manager

Senior Public Health Manager (37 hours) - 12 months secondment opportunity An exciting opportunity has arisen for a passionate and motivated senior public health practitioner to join the experienced public health team in Northumberland County Council who have tackling inequalities at the heart of their corporate planning and delivery. This is a Senior Public Health Manager role to lead public health programmes, including the strategic oversight of the local tracing partnership (LTP) and wider health protection responsibilities. In addition to the specific health protection function the post holder will be responsible for the re commissioning of the integrated sexual health service, ensuring the service is cost effective, of the highest quality, and designed to improve outcomes for the residents of Northumberland. The post-holder will have additional responsibilities for other aspects of the public health strategic plan such as progressing the healthy aging agendas as part of the senior management team. You must hold a Master’s Degree in Public Health, Health Promotion or related field and be able to demonstrate the ability to work as a senior member of the public health team. You should have sound operational experience of COVID-19 contact tracing and a good understanding of national and local arrangements for contact tracing. You should have an understanding of local authority public health services such as sexual health and preferably have experience of commissioning services. You should have a good knowledge and understanding of the social determinants of health and main health inequalities in Northumberland.
