Senior Research and Evaluation Officer

Job description

This is an exciting opportunity for a senior mixed methods researcher to join the Research and Evaluation Division, within the Public Health Data, Knowledge and Research Directorate in Public Health Wales. The post holder will help develop and shape robust and impactful evaluation of public health interventions and policies, and undertake a variety of other research and evaluation activities. The right person for the role will have experience in using appropriate complex mixed methods (qualitative and quantitative) approaches in a public health-related field for evaluation design, data collection, analysis, and interpretation; and an ability to apply their transferrable skills in applied health research, social and behavioural sciences, epidemiology, and/or statistics. They will use their skills and experience to develop innovative evaluation solutions and provide leadership and direction to partners engaging in public health evaluation activities. If appointed, you will join a supportive and multi-disciplinary team, working across organisational boundaries, applying your skills to complex public health challenges and sharing findings with others. The successful candidate will have a curious mind, excellent analytical skills, an aptitude to problem solve, and be motivated by delivering robust academic evidence to inform action.
