An exciting opportunity has arisen for a driven and motivated individual to join a forward thinking and dynamic Directorate within Public Health Wales. Working in the Policy and International Health, WHO Collaborating Centre on Investment for Health & Well-being Directorate (WHO CC), the purpose of this post is to further build on, and implement a programme of work to support Public Health Wales to meet its duties and maximise opportunities afforded by the innovative and ground-breaking Well-being of Future Generations (Wales) Act 2015, to improve health and reduce health inequity. The postholder will support the development and delivery of the Health and Sustainability Hub’s work programme, including collaborating with colleagues within Public Health Wales, and other NHS organisations and public bodies, in areas such as NHS decarbonisation and tackling the climate emergency.
The post holder will be a senior member of the Hub, which consists of a Strategic Lead, Programme Manager (this post), a Senior Sustainable Development Officer and a Project Support Officer.
The Hub supports Public Health Wales in applying the sustainable development principle, to become an exemplar organisation. The Hub also works with the wider public health system, other public bodies and cross-sector stakeholders to enhance the potential to improve health and wellbeing and strengthen the impact of the Act on population health, including environmental sustainability.
