Advanced Public Health Practitioner

Job description

We are looking for an Advanced Public Health Practitioner to join Norfolk County Council and help us achieve our aims of helping the people of Norfolk to be able to live in healthy places, promote healthy lifestyles and preventing ill-health. 
You will be an experienced and competent commissioner and have an understanding of public health prevention, inequalities and the needs of children and young people in Norfolk. You will ensure that public health work focus' on interdependent outcomes and a holistic approach to improving health. With a degree level qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area, you will have a working knowledge of current policies and strategies relating to public health. 
The post will be within the Children and Young People's Commissioning Team and you will hold a service portfolio, including within this Healthy Child Services covering delivery on Health Visiting and School Nursing lead provision and being responsible for commissioning and oversight of key service areas including children's weight and services to support teenage parents. 
The Council is working to further bring together services for children and young people in Norfolk through the delivery of the Start for Life offer and the family hub programme and Healthy Child Services are core to this. 
The team would would be joining is small but dynamic and we work flexibly to ensure our programme of work is delivered but also to support each other. 
Tasks will include, provider engagement and management, partnership working, service review, specification development and provider sourcing, capacity and demand planning and project implementation.
