Full time, 37 hours per week

Fixed Term Contract to 31st March 2025

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Bedford Borough Council for a specialist Air Quality Engagement Officer to develop and deliver air quality education projects within the Borough.

The successful candidate will work with schools, community groups, and primary care networks within the Borough utilising a range of educational and behaviour change initiatives to improve the knowledge of residents around air quality and promote sustainable travel choices and bring about changes to travel behaviour.

Through delivering activities such as personalised travel advice, establishing community air care champions, anti-idling initiatives and supporting activities such as free cycle lessons you will contribute to air quality improvement within the Borough.

To be successful you will have enthusiasm and passion to protect our natural environment and a real desire to do more to educate people about local air quality. You will have experience of working with people in a variety of settings including schools, businesses, and local community organisations with a track record of successfully delivering projects.

You will be joining a busy, friendly, supportive and professional team within a forward thinking and innovative service which is already utilising technology to enhance the service we deliver and provide officers with efficient and modern working practices supporting a great work life.
