Approved Mental Health Professional - Mental Health Team

Job description

We're looking for an Approved Mental Health Professional to work within an experienced, enthusiastic, and committed team covering the north of Wiltshire.

The function of the team is to provide social care interventions to those people meeting the threshold for secondary mental health care.
The team works closely with the secondary mental health providers in Wiltshire (AWP) and the other adult social care teams when they require access to specialist advice.
About the role
As an AMHP you will undertake the urgent assessment of adults with suspected social care needs to ensure that customers and their carers are protected from harm.
You will also act as duty officer for the team as required, participating in the duty rota, responding effectively to referrals & enquiries, and undertake professional supervision of unqualified staff i.e. students where appropriate.
About you
To qualify for this role, you need to be a registered Approved Mental Health practitioner with extensive relevant or transferable experience in a Mental Health or Adult Care setting.
You will need to prove you have the skills in place to be able to accurately assess individuals’ circumstances and develop appropriate plans.
To carry out the role you will need to have a thorough knowledge of social care legislation and policy, including mental capacity and safeguarding adults, Health & Social Care legislation and wider policy context.
