Assistant Commissioning Officer

Job description

This role is within the Voluntary Sector Grant Giving team which is part of Integrated Commissioning and Public Health.
We are a small team within with key areas of responsibility and development are:

  • Core Grant Aid programme supporting the voluntary sector including lunch clubs
  • People Keeping Well ‘programme’ which is one of Sheffield’s social prescribing initiatives connecting people to non medical forms of support
  • Holiday Activities and Food
    It is a varied role and we expect the successful candidate to be flexible and responsive to a diverse agenda.  The main area of work in the first instance is supporting People Keeping Well and Lunch Clubs and also providing wider support to the team others in the council in the management of grants.
    A typical day / week could involve:
  • Visting and meeting with PKW and lunch club organisers
  • Working with the team on other grant funds
  • Working closely with voluntary sector partners that we fund, including visiting provision
  • Meeting staff / partners and shadowing services including voluntary sector partners 
  • Listening to people who experience current services or interventions
