The Public Health Department at Manchester City Council is seeking two highly motivated and dedicated Community Health Equity Officers to join our team in Manchester.
The need to address health inequalities across Manchester is clear and Manchester City Council recognises that there is a need for more tangible action to be taken in response to racial and intersecting inequalities. As a Community Health Equity Officer, you will play a crucial role to help address and tackle health inequalities and promoting health equity across the city as part of Manchester City Council’s Making Manchester Fairer plan. Your work will have a direct and lasting impact on the lives of Manchester's diverse communities.
Are you?
· Passionate about working with communities and tackling health inequalities?
· Someone with lived experience and an understanding of the challenges and barriers faced by racially minoritised communities?
· An effective and inclusive communicator?
· Non-judgmental and understanding of others?
· Skilled at developing trust and relationships?
· Well organised, with good problem-solving and decision-making skills?
· Flexible and adaptable?
Then, you could be just the person we are looking for. You will be joining an established team that is passionate about and committed to addressing the inequalities exposed and amplified by the Covid pandemic, particularly for communities experiencing racial injustice and disabled people.
