The PHA is seeking to recruit a Public Health Consultant to support work within the Health Protection division. This opportunity is open to appropriately qualified medical and non-medical applicants. Working in a dynamic environment of multiple and challenging demands this post will require the post holder to work effectively across organisations and possess skills in negotiation, diplomacy and the application of intellectual rigor. The successful applicant will play a key role in the PHA’s Health Protection Service which has a front line role in protecting the Northern Ireland population from infectious diseases and environmental hazards through a range of core functions such as surveillance and monitoring, operational support and advice, response to health protection incidents, education, training and research.
 
The Agency has offices in 4 key locations across Northern Ireland; Belfast (HQ), Ballymena, Armagh and Londonderry. Appointees will be required to spend a proportion of their time in the Belfast (HQ) office to meet the needs of the service, however there would be an element of the role could be delivered from any of the 4 key locations.
 
This post is full time however consideration will be given to hours ranging from a minimum of 6 PA’s / 3 days per week with the option for an element of remote working in line with PHA Policy.
