Executive Support Assistant to the Director of Public Health

Job description

Hackney Council is looking for someone with outstanding organisational skills to join our Executive Support Team as an Executive Support Assistant (ESA), supporting the Director of Public Health.
You will work as part of a team of high functioning and flexible Executive Support Assistants that helps projects and services across the Council to run smoothly and efficiently. As part of this team, you will help to support multiple Directors across a range of services and cover different areas when needed.  
A flexible approach to workload and location is key. You will be expected to divide your time between working in the office and working from home, in line with Council policies. You will need to work under your own initiative, be forward thinking and have solid administrative experience. Knowledge of the public sector and policies affecting local government are desirable but not essential.  
We need people who can prioritise competing workloads and remain level headed under pressure. You should be a confident communicator, able to liaise with Members and Directors and capable of drafting reports and correspondence, be able to produce excellent, accurate minutes in addition to having strong diary management skills. 
You should be familiar with a range of IT packages including Microsoft Office and/or Google Suite (Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides).
**The following criteria is essential for this post: **
You must have recent, substantial experience of providing high level administrative support to a Chief Officer or Senior Manager in a large organisation (including comprehensive diary and inbox management).
You must have experience of attending high level meetings and taking accurate meeting notes and recording action points for circulation.
You must have experience in using Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and PowerPoint) and/or Google packages (Gmail, Docs, Sheets and Slides).
