Head of Improvement Capability

Job description

We're Improvement Cymru, the national improvement team for NHS Wales. We exist to support the system to continuously develop its capacity and capability (knowledge, structures and methods) to improve the quality and safety of health services in Wales.
We are looking for a lead to build improvement capability across NHS Wales, drawing on their expertise, but also our existing networks and links across Wales, the UK and internationally, with the ability to build and connect more.
From 1 April 2023 Improvement Cymru became part of the NHS Wales Executive. As a subsidiary brand of the NHS Wales Executive, Improvement Cymru will operate in shadow format for the first 12 months before formally joining the NHS Wales Executive in April 2024.

Main duties of the job

What's involved?
You will work closely with improvement leads, senior clinical and managerial leaders across NHS Wales to develop their improvement infrastructure and skills, using resources and expertise from across our team and partnership links.
You will oversee the further development and delivery of our Improvement Cymru Academy; our Q Lab Cymru partnership with the Health Foundation, and our Events and Communications teams, employing behaviour change techniques to spread improvement across Wales.
