Academic Assessor – Job DescriptionJob role:The Academic Assessor (AA) is responsible for the development of teaching materials for, and the delivery and assessment of, specific modules or units with a programme. The role has ultimate responsibility for ensuring that a group of students undertaking a specific module or unit engage with the module, fulfill their potential in terms of achievement of learning outcomes and enjoy a high-quality student experience.Line management:AAs will be allocated to a Programme Leader (PL) who will be their line manager.Timetabled Teaching, Learning and Assessment:The post holder will be responsible for delivery of an average 15-18 hours of teaching per week as part of a semester/block programme. Actual teaching load will vary from week to week depending on the number of modules the AA is given responsibility for. The target group size is 40 students per module although this will vary depending on the history of particular groups and recruitment. During timetabled teaching time the AA will:· Maintain attendance registers for teaching sessions and work with the attendance team to ensure the accuracy of the information being entered for students on digital registers.· Deliver/facilitate teaching sessions in line with the approved programme and module specifications· Work in line with Regent Digital provisions including VLEs and MS Teams.· Set assessments.· Ensure that students are actively engaging in their sessions and drive for 90+% submissions of assessments for all modules on time.Non-timetabled responsibilities:Outside of timetabled teaching hours the AA will be expected to manage their own time, in consultation with their line manager and other colleagues involved in programme delivery and assessment.
