This is an exciting opportunity to gain experience in a strategic role working across the Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS on the NHSE Wave 4 suicide prevention programme.
The NHSE Wave 4 suicide prevention and postvention programme is a national initiative by the Government to reduce suicides across the country. Hertfordshire and West Essex ICS are part of the fourth wave of funding, running from April 2021-March 2024.
You will contribute to the overall suicide prevention strategy, working with partners across the ICS to ensure continued delivery of a comprehensive suicide prevention workplan and the suicide bereavement service for Hertfordshire and West Essex. You will oversee existing programmes and community projects enabling them to develop sustainably to ensure their continuation in supporting mental health and suicide prevention in the community.
You will work with a multi-agency steering group and service a quarterly steering group meeting and keep members up to date with developments and oversee communications. You will report to Hertfordshire County Council’s public health consultant for health inequalities and mental health & suicide prevention, and you will work with a part time project manager who supports the programme.
Knowledge of public mental health and mental health services and suicide prevention would be desirable as would experience of budget management and contract management.
Relationship building across the ICS is essential to the continued development of this work, together with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders across the sector. If this sounds like the opportunity for you, we would love to hear from you.
