Health Improvement Specialist (Older People) Grade PO2

Job description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Leeds Public Health.

Leeds Public Health plays a major part in delivering this vision as part of the highly collaborative approach of ‘Team Leeds’, and we have the ideal partners and assets in Leeds to succeed.  
Initial priorities will be a range of areas such as healthy ageing, falls prevention, Age Friendly Leeds (wider determinants) and Dying Matters. The post holder will provide public health support to the development and implementation of programmes to improve the health and wellbeing of older people with a focus on the most vulnerable and reducing health inequalities.

Specifically the role will involve:

  • Supporting communications for Age Friendly, falls prevention, healthy ageing and health protection priorities for older people
  • Supporting engagement and analysis to feed into health needs assessments on healthy ageing, mental health in older people and age friendly (including housing, employment and transport)
  • Developing and delivering projects and training to address identified needs
  • Supporting monitoring of grants, contracts and strategies, including the Age Friendly board, falls prevention and healthy ageing initiatives
  • Supporting planning and delivery of partnership meetings such as the Age Friendly Leeds Partnership, Falls Steering Group etc
  • Working in partnership to deliver these priorities
    Candidates must have a degree.
    Please note that this Public Health post is subject to hybrid working arrangements and you will therefore be required to spend regular time in the workplace in addition to home working.
