Wrexham Glyndwr University is seeking to recruit a suitably qualified and experienced individual to join their dynamic Public Health, and Mental Health and Wellbeing team to assist with the delivery of the novel BSc Public Health and Wellbeing degree. The new degree programme draws from the broad field of Public Health and Community studies, and seeks to develop students, and place them on a career path in Public Health. We are looking to recruit a candidate that is fully immersed in the philosophy of Public Health, and who can covey to students issues of social justice, and the value of working across disciplinary boundaries with the aim of developing happier and healthier communities.

We seek to appoint an individual with vision, who can contribute to the development of the programme and additional courses and contribute to the development and growth of the department. The individual applying for the position will need to have a background in public health and / or lecturing in public health and can demonstrate a commitment to the field. Additionally the successful candidate will have demonstrable contemporary subject knowledge relating to Public Health and Wellbeing, Health Promotion and Improvement, Health Research Methods, and Community Studies.
The successful candidate will assume a key role in the planning, delivery, assessment and evaluation of the programme modules. They will work with students, team members and colleagues across the wider university to ensure a positive experience for students, monitor student recruitment and retention and address all university quality assurance processes. The role may involve some travel, for example visiting students on work based learning experiences, as well as with recruitment activities.
The successful applicant will either hold or be willing to work towards a PGCE/CertEd programme within the Faculty of Social and Life Sciences and will plan, teach and assess modules on our suite of programmes. Teaching and learning experience within the Higher Education sector would be an advantage, as would experience of developing or leading programmes.
The role is varied and challenging, so you will be need to be a highly self-motivated individual who is able to work flexibly and to tight deadlines, both autonomously and as part of a team. You will have outstanding communication and organisational skills and an eye for detail.
