Are you a qualified Nurse who is interested in a career in Public Health?

The Royal London Hospital site – Barts Health NHS Trust has an exciting opportunity for a Nurse with specialist interest in Maternity Services to support the delivery of the Public Health Agenda.
The role is to support the Band 6/7 Public Health Midwife in planning, implementing and delivery of the Immunisation and Screening Programme, thus contributing to the delivery of a high quality Public Health Programme for pregnant women and their new born babies by providing advice, information and promoting the Screening and Immunisation Programme. The Band 5 Nurse will assist the Band 6/7Midwife in providing support and education to all Midwives and other members of staff.
Have you got the following?

A current Nursing registration, preferably with one year post qualification experience

Skill in developing and maintaining effective working relationships with staff, patients, public and external agencies

Ability to take initiative and to exercise independent judgement, decision-making and problem-solving expertise

Ability to research and prepare reports or other correspondence as required

Main duties of the job

To contribute to the delivery of a high quality public health programme for pregnant women and new born babies in Barts Health NHS Trust.

To take a woman-centred and public health approach to improve health and tackle inequalities, specifically to raise the level of immunisation uptake across Barts Health NHS Trust.

To support the planning and implementation of the immunisation programme and public Health agenda delivery for pregnant women and their babies within Maternity Services.

To provide advice, information and promote immunisation Including Public Health Screening programme to pregnant women and to provide support and education to other staff.

To maintain and update electronic records.
