Project Manager (Healthy Behaviours)

Job description

Suffolk County Council is seeking an enthusiastic and committed individual to join our Healthy Behaviours team in the Public Health and Communities (PH and C) Directorate as a Project Manager (Healthy Behaviours).
This position will be located at Endeavour House in Ipswich, with flexible working and hybrid working options available.

    **Your role and responsibilities **
    As a Project Manager, you will work flexibly, as part of the Healthy Behaviours Team, to provide a co-ordinated focus and first point of contact for PH and C’s work to support key health behaviours – specifically physical activity, tobacco control, health checks, and healthy eating. 

  • be an important point of contact for key health behaviours
  • provide specialist advice and oversight to both internal and external partners   
  • build relationships and influence a wide range of internal and external stakeholders, developing capacity and ensuring connectivity across the Suffolk system
  • work in partnership to identify, inform, develop, and deliver strategies, programmes, and interventions that improve health behaviours.

    You will need

  • a positive and innovative approach
  • experience of public health theory and practice  
  • highly developed project management skills, with proven experience in simultaneously managing a range of successful health improvement and prevention programmes from inception to completion 
  • confident and effective communication skills, and experience working with a wide range of partners, organisations, systems, and communities, to build and maintain excellent working relationships  
  • a track record of effective networking, negotiating, persuading, and advocacy skills
  • proven ability to adapt to change, manage uncertainty and solve problems.
