Do you want to protect and improve the health of people in Nottinghamshire?
The Public Health Division at Nottinghamshire County Council commissions a range of Public Health services and works with other organisations to improve health and wellbeing in the population and reduce health inequalities.
We now have two permanent vacancies for experienced public health professionals to join our team. These are full-time, but also open to part-time options. The roles will support the functions and activities of the Health and Wellbeing Board, oral health, healthcare public health and NHS Health Checks, as well as other priorities across Public Health.
Qualified to degree level (or able to demonstrate substantial experience equivalent in breadth and rigour to degree level), you will have relevant experience in Public Health or related work, as well as experience of building partnerships and working collaboratively with others.
You will be a good communicator with well-developed planning and problem-solving skills, highly organised and flexible.
The roles will suit people with initiative who are keen to work proactively and closely with elected members and senior officers to embed prevention and equity across Nottinghamshire. It will also suit those with a broader interest in Public Health, who are able to apply their knowledge and expertise on a variety of different agendas.
You will be primarily based at County Hall, Nottingham. The Council has adopted a hybrid working arrangement, which will allow employees to work from home, as well as come into the office.
Nottinghamshire County Council has an NHS Pension Direction Order in place, which means that we are able to provide ongoing access to the NHS Pension Scheme (NHSPS) where we recruit eligible new joiners to public health roles who are currently in the NHSPS.
