We are looking for an enthusiastic and adaptable Public Health Assistant to join our caring and progressive team in Sittingbourne
You will work as part of a close-knit team who are dedicated to the health and wellbeing of people in Sittingbourne. East Kent is made up of a diverse patient group with complex needs. Healthcare assistants make a difference by helping to keep people at home and independent for longer.
Our community nursing teams are closely aligned with local Primary Care Networks, to make sure patient care is holistic and joined up. We believe in treating the whole person, not just the condition, so we take time to get to know our patients.
You will be required to understand & identify healthy normal growth & development in children from 0-5 years which is monitored through development reviews and promoting the Ages & Stages questionnaire, (ASQ. TM) and have an understanding of child development and play and the importance of play in children's lives and learning, language development, special educational needs and disability.
You will participate in the care of clients / families in, public health or community setting under the direction of a senior members of the Health Visiting team, taking into account the lifestyle, race, gender and cultural background, and factors which impact on physical, mental or emotional health.
Daily workload will be varied with a range of activities delegated by the Health Visiting team to enable you to support children and young people, families and carers in enabling them to improve their health
and well- being.
