Public Health Finance Officer
Public Health is looking to recruit a Public Health Finance Officer to work in their busy office.
The post holder will be required to assist the Public Health Business and Grant Manager in providing a comprehensive, co-ordinated, and efficient finance support service to the Public Health Team, to enable them to carry out their responsibilities effectively whilst complying with Kent County Council processes.
The Public Health team works to improve the wellbeing of the people of Kent, protecting the health of the Kent population and improving the quality, effectiveness and access to, health and social care services.
The main functions of the post holder will be to:
Manage day to day responsibilities of the PH Finance Team, consisting of Finance officer & Billing Officer, under the supervision of PH Business & Grant managerProcess, maintain and monitor financial records, including the preparation and processing of invoices for paymentRaising purchase ordersRaise invoices requests for external incomeData analysis and reconciliationInvestigate & resolve any finance queries and anomalies as they ariseAssisting PH Business & Grant manager with various finance tasks e.g budget management
Key skills required include excellent numeracy and literacy skills, attention to detail and accuracy and the ability to communicate with both external providers and internal colleagues.
The position will be based at County Hall, Sessions House.
This post is considered by KCC to be a customer-facing position. The Council therefore has a statutory duty under Part 7 of the Immigration Act (2016) to ensure that post holders have a command of spoken English/Welsh sufficient for the effective performance of the job requirements.
