Public Health Officer (Stop Smoking)

We are looking for a highly motivated Public Health Officer to join our inspiring and dynamic team. This is an exciting opportunity to work within the Public Health Stop Smoking Service providing exceptional smoking cessation support, helping to improve the quality of life for residents of Central Bedfordshire, Bedford Borough and Milton Keynes. 
 
You will be in a key position to protect vulnerable residents and improve their wellbeing by helping to reduce health inequalities within the local communities. 
 
You will be responsible for running clinics which provide stop smoking support for members of the public and will have a case load of clients, you will also be providing support to Primary Care services and delivering training sessions. This will provide an opportunity to make a significant difference to the lives of others while allowing you to find your greatness.
 
You will have excellent communication skills and a talent for motivating people, as well as the ability to build strong working relationships and work effectively autonomously and within a team. You will be someone who is organised, can prioritise their workload effectively and meet deadlines. You will have strong presentation, facilitation and IT skills.
 
Ideally the successful applicant will have a degree or relevant experience. We are looking for someone who is patient, a good listener and keen to learn. You will be an integral part of a progressive and enthusiastic Public Health team dedicated to providing an exceptionally high-quality service. You will be provided with opportunities for training in order to perform this role and continue your own personal development. 
 
This role requires some travel you must be able to drive, have access to a vehicle and hold a full valid driving licence.
