Our Principal Manager will lead and manage multiple concurrent planning and commissioning cycle processes for complex public health programmes, requiring you to work with senior partners in local, regional and national settings.
You will develop, manage and implement public health strategies and projects in support of the Director of Public Health and Public Health Consultant team, including commissioning and budget management with responsibilities for designing, contributing to, and advising on the development and implementation of specialist local public health programmes and campaigns.
You will join our Public Health team and will work across the Council and wider health system supporting the delivery of improved outcomes for residents. Salford is part of Greater Manchester with its Public Service Reform Programme and devolution agendas bringing new opportunities.
About you
You will be required to have overarching and in-depth expert knowledge in Public Health with direct experience of managing large programmes, tender processes and team management. Within this portfolio there will be multiple subject areas that the post will be required to demonstrate specialist public health knowledge on. They will be expected to influence, negotiate, communicate and provide this expert advice to inform budget decisions, service planning and decision making.
You will have experience of commissioning large public health programmes is essential. To provide support to the Public Health Strategy Managers on the commissioning and management for all public health commissioned programmes, through matrix management and leadership of the strategy managers.
