Public Health Project Officer

Job description

The Public Health Project Officer role is an important role within the Public Health team. Your key role is to work in partnership with colleagues and outside agencies to improve the health and wellbeing within the community through the development, implementation and co-ordination of public health programmes based on local health needs. This will involve undertaking and/or contributing to local Joint Strategic Needs Assessment. This role will also be responsible for reviewing and commissioning specific programmes within your own portfolio area, for NHS Health Checks and Domestic Abuse. 
The post is based within the Wokingham Borough Council Public Health team but will require working in close collaboration with other Wokingham Borough Council Officers working on health and wellbeing, local authority public health team members, the Shared Berkshire West Public Health Team as well as health colleagues across Wokingham.
