Joining our innovative Public Health team, you’ll play a key role in fostering a research and evidence-based culture whilst progressing your career in this brand new role. Our supportive team are passionate about improving the health of our local communities in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight. We enjoy working in a collaborative environment where research and policy come together to drive change through effective decision making.
You’ll help to shape the research culture of our team by enabling us to better understand how research can be produced and used effectively and how to promote engagement with evidence-based research among our partners including local authorities, universities and the NHS. You’ll support us to become research active, by helping us to engage with research evidence, generate research across the wider determinants of health, and build capacity in our Public Health team and other departments.
Having a postgraduate qualification in Public Health or a relevant discipline is essential for this role, alongside a keen interest in the real-world application of research. You’ll use your excellent communication skills to build relationships and work effectively with our partners to achieve change. Your knowledge of public health concepts, combined with your ability to use evidence-based research methods to gather, interpret and present complex data in a meaningful way to a variety of audiences will be key. You’ll ideally have a proven track record in grant writing, funding applications, writing and publishing papers, and presenting at conferences.
In return, we are committed to your continued personal development and offer an extensive Benefits Package. We recognise the benefits hybrid working can bring, so you’ll be able to work remotely (with equipment provided) with office-based working in Winchester once a fortnight.
Please note that you must have the right to work in the UK to be eligible for this role and ideally you will be able to start on or before by 29 September 2023. This role is currently a 1 year fixed term contract which may be extended subject to further funding. Please include a list of your publications/papers in your CV or Cover Letter.
