Your role in our journey

This is an exciting opportunity to join a highly ambitious, innovative, energetic, friendly and high achieving Public Health team.  The team has developed strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders, making our work more effective in meeting the needs of our population and tackling health inequalities.

We are looking for an enthusiastic Public Health Technical Support Officer with passion for improving public health and reducing health inequalities, to support our healthcare public health and health protection agendas. This full-time fixed term post until 31.03.2023 will provide support to a range of programmes including supporting the COVID-19 response and recovery, cancer prevention and early detection and heart health, amongst other priorities relating to health protection and healthcare public health. The successful candidate will work with both internal and external partners across Barnsley to help improve population health and inequalities through preventative interventions.

What you’ll need

You will have a passion for helping others and an understanding of public health and health inequalities in Barnsley. You will be experienced in managing your own workload and working to deadlines.
