An exciting opportunity has arisen to work with the Health Protection team in Public Health at Walsall Council.
We are looking to recruit substantively to a senior (developmental) role to develop and lead the health protection service and to assist in the development of our team of Infection Prevention & Control nurses.
We are seeking a highly motivated and proactive qualified nurse who has the experience and knowledge to further develop the service within NHS, private and independent health and social care providers.
The post holder will represent Public Health Walsall Council at various internal and external forums and maintain strong links with partner agencies, including the Clinical Commissioning Groups, Public Health England, NHS England, NHS Improvement and the Care Quality Commission.
The post holder will assist the Consultant Lead for Health Protection to provide Walsall Council with a clear strategic vision for the further development of a mandated health protection service that will meet the needs of the different aspects of health and social care provision in Walsall as part of a local health economy approach. Learning and experience in pandemic management is vital. This is especially important as we continue to manage the Covid-19 pandemic.
If successful, you will be expected to lead a team of nurses and to be a source of clinical expertise and professional advice on communicable diseases and healthcare associated infections, screening and immunisation and other health protection matters within the LA and for all members of the Walsall health and social care economy. You will also have the opportunity to further your development with support through training and mentoring.
