The Senior Health Protection Practitioner (SHPP) will be a key member of the Rapid Investigation Team, part of Field Service, and supported by information, administrative, and scientific staff within the Team and throughout the national Field Service.
The post holder will require demonstrable generic public health skills and will have specific lead areas of work involving partnership working with external organisations and assisting in the development of joint plans and system wide priorities for public health action or improvement. The post holder may be asked to contribute to the strategic work of the Service and deputise for RIT Consultant Epidemiologist or AHPP where appropriate. The post holder may be expected to work across regional sites, providing leadership whilst on deployment and contribute to the development of the Service
Location
The UK Health Security Agency (UKHSA) offers hybrid working – this means that whilst the role will be based in one of our offices, there will be opportunities to work from home. The number of days in the office will be agreed on an individual basis by your line manager, but the majority of people currently in the team do not attend the office regularly.
This role can be based at one of our UKHSA offices/locations (Leeds, Manchester, Totnes, London, Horsham, Cardiff, Bristol, Nottingham, Harlow, Liverpool, Fareham, Gloucester, Newcastle and Birmingham) with opportunities for working from home.
