An opportunity has arisen for a Senior Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner to work within the primary care mental health service at HMP Forest Bank. HMP Forest Bank is a Category B prison which houses male prisoners aged 18 upwards. The prison is operated by Sodexo Justice Services who work in partnership with Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust to provide a high standard to mental health care to those in their custody.
The post holder will assist in the delivery of effective needs based, modern mental health services within the prison, which achieves equivalence to healthcare services in the community. The post holder will be responsible for providing an assessed need of low intensity psychological therapy to men in custody.
The post holder will be expected to provide evidence based psychological assessment, formulation and therapy to service users, as well as advise and support colleagues and other non-professional carers on the psychological aspect of assessment formulation, care and treatment. The post holder will also be responsible for the line management of two Health and Wellbeing Practitioners, alongside overseeing their clinical practice and the day to day running of the service. In addition, the post holder will provide supervision for junior PWP’s within other GMMH Health & Justice services. Also, to further members of staff as the team expands.
The model of care used by the service is the stepped care model of care which the post holder will contribute to in the delivery of individualised care and a commitment to promoting recovery and wellbeing.
