The Public Health Healthcare team at Walsall Borough Council are looking to recruit 2 full time (or equivalent part time) motivated and enthusiastic Senior Sexual Health Nurse practitioners. The successful applicants will have excellent interpersonal and communication skills along with the ability to work and lead effectively a multidisciplinary team within the department. We require individuals who are forward thinking, well organised with a positive attitude towards flexibility and change. For these posts, you will need to hold a full UK driving licence and have access to the use of a car and may be expected to work in sexual health clinics across the borough of Walsall These are new posts for a new community sexual health service in brand new clinic premises.

Main duties of the job
The post holder/s will ensure that they provide a gold standard patient focused service and will be required to:
·Be a qualified nurse who will be required to work with the Commissioner for Sexual Health, Consultant in Public Health, Senior Nurse Health Protection, local sexual health service providers and with partner organisations to work as an autonomous practitioner and with members of the multidisciplinary team to promote an excellent sexual health outreach service.
Manage and lead a multi-disciplinary Team
·Have the necessary clinical skills to deliver nurse led contraception and sexual health clinics providing a high standard of care to patients, including history taking, clinical assessment, diagnosis, treatment and evaluation of their care.
Deliver all forms of contraception including Intrauterine Contraception and Sub-dermal implants Work collaboratively and in partnership with Walsall Hospitals NHS Trust Sexual Health Services. Have the ability to manage vulnerable patients Mentor and support other nurses and Health Care Support Workers within the service Be a Nurse prescriber or willing to train
The posts are full-time (37 hrs) but consideration will be given to suitable candidates who wish to work part-time.
