We are looking to recruit an experienced and motivated midwife to work along side a Band 4 Tabaco dependency advisor.
The purpose of the post is to reduce rates of smoking in pregnancy and thus reduce the harm caused by this behaviour.
Working within the multi-professional team to lead the strategic co-ordination, implementation, and development of the Maternity Tobacco Dependency programme consistent with new national standards, guidance and research.
Evaluating the effectiveness of the programme at local level, reporting to the DGT Tobacco Dependence Steering Group and if necessary, the Trust board.
Encouraging a holistic, non-stigmatising approach to help maternity service users, their significant others, and families to stop smoking, therefore giving every child the best start in life and ensuring a smoke free home/environment.
