An exciting opportunity has arisen for Band 6 Stop Smoking Specialist Nurse, to join the nursing team working within Respiratory Medicine across Queen’s and King George Hospital. Successful applicants will be working with other members of the multidisciplinary Respiratory Medicine team, in providing high quality, holistic medical care whilst supporting patients with their medical needs, before supporting their discharge to a variety of destinations. The post holder will work with the Matrons and other senior nurses to directly supervise and monitor the provision of nursing care in accordance with individual care plans, maintaining high standards of patient care and adhering to trust and local policies. The post holder will contribute to the delivery of the BHRUT Stop Smoking Service objectives and the wider objectives of the Trust by providing high-quality, expert stop smoking interventions to inpatients, outpatients, visitors and staff.

The Tobacco Dependence Treatment Specialist will strategically deliver the smoking element of the NHS LTP by establishing a stop smoking service at Queen’s Hospital (QH) and King George Hospital (KGH) based upon the Ottawa and CURE Models of Smoking Cessation.
